Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) was the 16th President of the United States. He was President during the Civil War. He was the tallest President who ever lived. He declared the last Thursday in November as Thanksgiving. He was shot by John Wilkes Booth on April 14, 1865 and Lincoln died the next morning, making him the first President to be assassinated.
