Lyndon B. Johnson (1908-1973) was the 36th President of the United States. He was Vice-President under John Fitzgerald Kennedy until his assassination. He was the first President to be sworn in on a plane by a woman. He was the first President to appoint an African-American to the Supreme Court. He led the US troops into the Vietnam War. The Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center was named in his honor.
